Koto Connect 1.4

The koto, known as "箏" in Japanese, is a traditional stringed instrument originating from the Chinese zheng and sharing similarities with the Mongolian yatga, Korean gayageum, and Vietnamese đàn tranh.

As the national instrument of Japan, the koto measures about 180 centimeters in length and is crafted from kiri wood (Paulownia tomentosa). It features 13 strings arranged over movable bridges spanning its width. Additionally, there exists a 17-string model to cater to different musical tastes. Players can fine-tune the string pitches by adjusting the position of the white bridges before performing. The koto is played by plucking its strings with three finger picks corresponding to the thumb, index finger, and middle finger.
